Introduction

The Silk Route Festival honors the historic trade routes that formerly linked China to Central and South Asia and is held along the Karakoram Highway in locations including Gilgit, Hunza, and Nagar. This festival honors the legacy of those who transported products, concepts, and artwork over the world's highest mountain passes.

Caravans, traditional dances from China, Iran, Turkey, and Central Asia, historic costume parades, and displays of ceramics, carpets, calligraphy, embroidery, and jewels are all part of the event. Fusion music, which combines Turkic, Persian, and Mongol rhythms, is performed by artists.
