Introduction

The Nanga Parbat Diamir Face Trek is a journey to the western face of Nanga Parbat, known locally as "Diamer" or "the huge mountain." Particularly at higher elevations, the Diamir Face, one of Nanga Parbat's three main faces, offers a challenging and wild terrain with massive icefields and precipitous cliffs.

This hike takes you into the remote and little-traveled Diamir Valley, providing a close-up and modest glimpse of the ninth-highest mountain in the world. While the infamous "Killer Mountain" moniker was earned due to numerous catastrophes, the Diamir side is today the most popular route for summit attempts, including the well-known Kinshofer route. At the Diamir Base Camp, where their adventure ends, hikers may take in a stunning vista of this ancient face and a glimpse into the heart of high-altitude mountaineering.
